The integral education is meant to bring about the all-round development of a child. The subject is very vast and in India our traditional way of education tried to do this, integrating theory and practice in a very harmonious way. Later on, the whole orientation of education degenerated into an almost exclusive means for getting job and achieving material success, thereby neglecting its real role in shaping the human being and to grow towards the significance of his life. To prepare the future mankind as envisaged by Sri Aurobindo, The Mother started a system of education in Ashram in a very novel way. The Mother’s book on education explains the way of realizing it. Some of the key ideas of an integral education are shared here with the example of the Mother’s School.
